Forming an LLC is generally a good idea if you’re starting a business. If your business is based in Kentucky, then you have to file your LLC with the Kentucky state government. That way, you’re legal to operate and you avoid unnecessary fines and penalties.

The Secretary of the State of Kentucky will send a reminder in the form of a postcard that can be completed with the necessary information needed on your Annual Report between January and February of the years after you have formed your LLC. So, you can just mail the completed postcard along with a check of 15 USD back to the Secretary of the State of Kentucky.
The good news is that you don’t have much to pay, as the cost of the Annual Report in the State of Kentucky is 15 USD only. However, it may cost more if you fail to file the report on time, as it may result in the dissolution of your LLC. You’ll then have to spend money, time, and effort to reestablish the LLC.
Note that if more than half of your LLC is owned by a veteran, then the 15 USD filing fee will be waived for the first 4 years. This is because of the “Boot to Business” initiative which commenced in August of 2018.

- Input the name of your LLC or the Business ID of your LLC to search for it.
